The Child Nutrition Program has approximately 32 employees and serves over 2600 nutritious lunches and breakfasts daily. The Program operates the National School Lunch Program, the School Breakfast Program, the Summer Meal Service Program and After School Snack Program.

National School Lunch/Breakfast Program Facts:

• School lunches are planned to provide 1/3 of the recommended dietary allocation of protein, Vitamins A and C, calcium and iron.
• School breakfast is planned to provide ¼ of the recommended dietary allowance.
• Guidelines recommend lunches average no more than 30% calories from fat and no more than 10% calories from saturated fat in a one-week period.


When children eat breakfast they:

• Are more attentive and alert
• Perform better in school
• Are more efficient in late morning hours
• Have better body performance
• Are more likely to obtain nutrients essential for development

All cafeterias use a computerized point-of-sale in which an unlimited amount of money may be deposited into your child/children’s account to be used for lunch, breakfast and a la carte purchases (a la purchases canont be charged).
