CAMPBELL ATTENDS NATIONAL ACADEMY OF FUTURE PHYSICIANS
NAFP

Emily Campbell, the daughter of Drs. Jason and Allison Campbell and a sophomore at Glasgow High School, had an opportunity to attend the National Academy of Future Physicians (NAFP) in Boston this past summer. According to Campbell, it was “undoubtedly one of the best experiences of [her] life.” NAFP is an annual gathering of America’s high-achieving high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine. Campbell was surrounded by thousands of high school students who share her passion and desire to become a physician. During this 3-day event, Campbell had the opportunity to watch live surgery and even question the surgeon in real time. She also got to hear speeches and presentations from some of the country’s leading doctors. Numerous opportunities were awarded to Campbell for her hard work and excellence in academics. In fact, she was invited to join the Torch and Laurel program, which helps high achieving students with college. Additionally, Campbell was invited to shadow doctors for 3 months in Mexico. When asked about her experience, Campbell stated that “it made [her] want to become a lot more focused on [her] future career and to work hard for [her] goals.” Campbell highly recommends the NAFP program to anyone interested in entering the medical field because “it will really show you how great you can become and how far hard work and determination will get you.”
