On August 9, 2017, eleven Glasgow High School students were honored at the AP Capstone Graduation ceremony. The AP Seminar and Research Certificate is awarded to students who score a 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research.  Students who earn 3 or higher on both the AP Seminar and AP Research exams and on four additional AP classes of their choosing, receive an AP Capstone Diploma.  Ten GHS students recently received a Capstone diploma and one received a Capstone certificate.

Student Activity: Principals of Biomedical Science

GHS students in the Biomedical Science program recently put their detective knowledge and skills to use as they investigated a fictional crime scene. In Principles of Biomedical Science, students explore concepts of biology and medicine to determine factors that led to the death of a fictional person. According to Project Lead the Way (PLTW), the curriculum pathway used in the Principles of Biomedical Science course, “students examine autopsy reports, investigate medical history, and explore medical treatments that might have prolonged the person’s life. The activities and projects in the PLTW curriculum introduce students to human physiology, basic biology, medicine, and research processes while allowing them to design their own experiments to solve problems.”
