GMS Jr. Beta Shirt sales

Special Called SBDM Meeting

Glasgow Middle School will have a special called SBDM meeting Thursday, March 8th at 4:30 pm in the office meeting area.   The purpose of this meeting is to develop the Principal Selection Timeline and to conduct required Principal Selection Training. 

Chorus Students Recognized at February Board meeting

Students from Highland Elementary, South Green Elementary, Glasgow Middle School and Glasgow High School were recognized at the February regular meeting of the Glagow Board of Education.   The students were recognized for being selected and participating in the KMEA and ACDA All-State Choir.

GMS wins at Jr. Beta

Glasgow Middle School students recently competed at the Kentucky Jr. Beta Convention in Lexington, KY.   They placed 2nd in Group Talent and will be going on to compete at the National Jr. Beta Convention in Savannah, GA in June.  Ella Kate Lawrence placed 2nd in painting.   Jalen Heater has been asked to sing the National Anthem at the opening ceremonies in Savannah.

Glasgow High School Choral Department presents Meredith Wilson's The Music Man

Glasgow Board of Education Local Planning Committee Meeting Notification

The Glasgow Board of Education Local Planning Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. at Glasgow Middle School at 105 Scottie Drive, Glasgow Kentucky.  The purpose of the meeting is an orientation meeting in regards to developing a new District Facility Plan. 

Glasgow Board of Education Local Planning Committee Public Forum Notification

The Glasgow Board of Education Local Planning Committee will hold a public forum on Thursday, February 20, at 5.30 p.m. at Glasgow Middle School at 105 Scottie Drive, Glasgow Kentucky. The local planning committee will solicit public comments regarding district facilities and the district facility plan.

Artist Visits GMS

International artist Kelsey Montague will be at Glasgow Middle School on Wednesday April 11, 2018. Meet and greet, reception and art unveiling will begin at 6:00pm. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at Glasgow Middle School beginning March 12 or at the door the evening of the event.  Event Flyer

GMS Student Wins County Wide Spelling Bee

Brendan Wilson, 7th grader at Glasgow Middle School, recently won the Ford Motor Company Kentucky Derby Festival County-wide Spelling Bee.   He is pictured with Regina Murphy, Assistant Principal at GMS.   Brendan will go on to compete and represent GMS in the state Spelling Bee in March.  Congratulations and good luck to Brendan!

GMS Academic Team Wins at District Competition

Glasgow Middle School Academic team placed 1st overall in District competition recently.   They also received 1st place in Future Problem Solving and 2nd place in Quick Recall.  The following students placed in Written Assessments:  Caleb West - 1st Science, 3rd Math; Jazzlyn Douglas - 4th Math, 4th Language Arts; Jessica Mansfield - 2nd Arts & Humanities, 4th Science; Griffin Reid - 1st Arts & Humanities, 2nd Social Studies; Waylon Griffin - 5th Social Studies; Andres Garcia - 2nd Language Arts; Gabbie Houchens-Granados - 3rd Language Arts; Depp Alexander - 5th Arts & Humanities; Creighton Lessenberry - 2nd Written Composition; Mia Cassady - 3rd Written Composition; and Hewett Lessenberry - 4th Written Composition.   Congratulations to all these GMS Scotties!  #theyworkedhard  #theyrepresented

"Shrek the Musical" Jr

Come join the cast of "Shrek the Musical" Jr as we encounter fairytale creatures, dragons, a princess, a sinnister bad guy, a hilarious donkey, and a loveable ogre named Shrek.

Leaders of the Future Students recognized

Students who were selected to be a part of the 2017-2018 Leaders of the Future class were recognized at the October 16, 2017 Board meeting.   

District Local Planning Committee Parent Elections

Glasgow Middle School will be taking parent nominations for a parent representatives to serve on the District Local Planning Committee. This group will study the facility needs of the school district and make recommendations to the board regarding future needs. 






  • Nominees must live in the Glasgow Independent School District and have a child enrolled in Glasgow Middle School.
  • Nominations must be in writing from the individual, or have the signature of the person, stating that they are willing to serve in this position. 
  • Nominees can not be employees of the school system or serve on the Board of Education. 
  • Nominations will be taken thru October 13th until 3:00 pm and should be taken to the school office. 

Elections will be held October 16th from 8:00 to 3.00 pm at GMS.   Only parents or guardian with students attending Glasgow Middle School will be allowed to vote in this election.  

Title 1 Parent Meeting September 27th @ 3:30

Glasgow Middle School recognizes that engaging parents and families in the education process is essential to improve academic success for students.

It further recognizes that a child’s education is a responsibility shared by the school and the family during the entire time a child attends school. Therefore Glasgow Middle School shall foster and support active parent involvement so that schools and parents work together as knowledgeable partners in educating children.

Glasgow Middle School will host an annual planning meeting informing parents about the school's participation in the Title 1 program and the rights parents have to be involved. The meeting will be held at Glasgow Middle School Library at 3:30 pm on September 27th, 2017.

Core Club offers Early Bird Activities

GMS Core Club is offering early bird activities starting at 7:00am in the library. Students can get help with homework, organization, check out a book, read, or work on computers. See Mrs. Bishop or Mrs. Bowles for more details.

District wide Open Enrollment will be held at each school on Thursday, July 20th from 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm.   Please go to the school that your child will be attending to enroll them.

Gillie Hyde Ford to hold Drive 4 UR School Event

Gillie Hyde Ford-Lincoln and Highland Elementary School are working together to help raise up to $6,000 in support of  Glasgow Independent School District as part of Ford Motor Company’s Drive 4 UR School program. Members of the Glasgow-area community will have the opportunity to raise money for the Glasgow Independent School District by test-driving a Ford vehicle. For every person who

test-drives a new Ford vehicle at this one-day event, Ford Motor Company will donate $20, up to a maximum donation of $6,000, to Glasgow Independent School District.

For every person who takes a test-drive in a new Ford vehicle, Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to Glasgow Independent School District. In total, a maximum donation of $6,000 could be raised!

GMS 21st CCLC Summer Camps

Glasgow Middle School’s 21st Century Community Learning Center presents Summer “STEAM” Camps 2018!  “Brain Boosters”- Sharpen your skills in all academic areas through trivia games, speed drills, art projects, presentations, puzzles, movies, and technology.  End the week with a field trip to the Parthenon in Nashville, Tennessee.

Glasgow Independent Students participate in Special Olympics

The Special Olympics Track and Field games were held on Saturday, April 21, 2018, in Bowling Green.  Glasgow had 13 athletes to participate!

From South Green:

Yesenia Juarez-Ramirez placed 3rd in softball throw and 5th in 50 meter walk.

Reid Harper placed 3rd in softball throw and 1st in 50 meter dash.

Cherish Farmer placed 1st in softball throw and 1st in 50 meter dash.

From Glasgow Middle School:

Kelsey Barfield placed 3rd in softball and 3rd in 100 meter dash.

Dalton Farmer placed 3rd in softball and 4th in 100 meter dash.

Moheema Rahman placed 3rd in softball and 2nd in 50 meter walk.

James Phelps placed 1st in softball and 1st in 50 meter dash.

Larry Powell placed 4th in softball and 4th in 50 meter dash.

Inquiring Minds Incredibles Camp

Calling all Incredible rising 2nd-6th graders!  The summer is in peril and it's up to the Scotties to save it!  Join us June 18-22 at Glasgow High School for a week of super fun as we learn about Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack from the hit movie The Incredibles.  We will explore the principles behind these heroes’ powers, create our own incredible art, find our hidden strengths, solve problems and work together as Incredible Scottie Supers!   Join the Inquiring Minds staff as we take you on an incredible journey of SUMMER FUN.

Camp Hours are from 8:00 – 1:00.  Breakfast and lunch will be served, and each student will receive a camp T-shirt - and some Incredible memories!
